When I 1st made use of it I thought it wasn't choosing up pretty a lot as it barely touched the wood chips from my wood carving. Then I opened it to empty and saw the TON of pet hair inside that I couldn't see in the carpet! On the second try it started picking up the wood chips with ease. Does it replace a vacuum sweeper? No, but its terrific for rapid clean up amongst vacuuming...especially when somebody calls to say they had been just in the neighborhood...
